Some of you know Mykah. She's our parvo survivor from last year. We didn't know her momma was preggers when we got her from the pound. But her and her relative (sister, mother?) both came in preggers. And were carrying parvo. At 4 weeks...... the pups broke with parvo. From both litters. 7 pups our of 10 broke with it. Three never broke (thankfully!). Mykah was one of the last ones to break..... but also the only one to survive.
Now why does her story matter to me eating cereal? Well... since my dogs have been exposed to parvo before, she spent her parvo days quarantined with me. She became an honorary monster.
But.... since Gigi left, Mykah has become so much more than just another pup needing a home. We've connected in a way that I never expected. Now that doesn't mean I'm keeping her! I think my husband may divorce me if I did, but it's going to sting a little more now that it would have a month ago.
