And now you're wondering how any of this matters.
Well, when we first started in this whole rescue business and I lost the love of my life, Squirt, I decided to get a tattoo in honor of her memory. She was my soul. I still haven't managed to get said tattoo because I keep changing my mind about what I want. How do you honor one who meant so much to you?
As we've grown and I've started doing more and more rescue, I came to the conclusion that I can't get a tattoo for each individual animal that leaves a pawprint on my heart when they leave me. I might as well just paint my body black and call it a day.
So I decided to get a large tattoo that would encompass all I wanted to say and remember to each and every animal that I have loved and lost. Now... you may be saying that there is no way I've loved that many animals since I'm only 25, but I love each one that walks into our doors. Yeahh, I grumble about some that have less than favorable characteristics *cough*Timon*cough* but that doesn't mean I don't love them. With every adoption or passing of an animal, it takes part of my heart with it.
